Over the past year, the City of Dubuque has worked with the University of Iowa Masters in Urban Planning program to develop indicators for our 11-principle Sustainable Dubuque plan.  On Thursday, I'll be presenting along with one of the UI students about the 60-indicator scorecard we developed and how we plan to use it.  This webinar is hosted by Sustainable City Network.  Registration info below-hope to hear from you on the call!

Just a reminder that we're hosting a free webinar next Thursday on Sustainability Metrics. It features a partnership between the City of Dubuque, Iowa and a team of graduate students from the University of Iowa School of Urban and Regional Planning. The students worked with a group of community and municipal leaders to develop a set of 60 specific measurements intended to help the city benchmark and track the progress of its sustainability initiatives

Our presenters will include Cori Burbach, sustainable community coordinator for the City of Dubuque, Iowa, and Medora Kealy, one of the UI students who participated in the project.

If you or someone in your organization would like to attend, the webcast starts at 10 a.m. Pacific, 11 a.m. Mountain, noon Central, and 1 p.m. Eastern. Click here to register.

In developing Dubuque's Sustainability Indicators, the UI students studied 44 different indicator systems from around the world and identified more than 1,200 potential indicators. In collaboration with city staff and other community members, UI students identified the final set of metrics that are meaningful, measurable, comparable to other cities, and those that advance Dubuque's sustainability goals

Even if you can't make the live presentation, if you register you'll receive a link to the recorded event the next day.
