  • City Manager Jeffery Pomeranz of Cedar Rapids, Iowa has explained that the city council voted down the proposal to hire a consultant to examine ways to establish a quiet zone for trains based on its hefty price tag (AP).
  • Harry Jones, Manager of County of Meklenburg, North Carolina proposed a spending plan that led residents and county commissioners to question priorities (Lake Wylie Pilot).
  • North Carolina, Pender County Manager Rick Benton’s proposed budget faces criticism in austere fiscal environment (Wilmington Star).
  • Steve Hewitt, City Manager of Clinton, Oklahoma recounted the rebuilding process of Greensburg, Kansas which was devastated by a tornado in 2007, when he was the city administrator (CNN).
