Nearly 100 success stories are dotting the Life, Well Run map, which covers communities that are demonstrating how citizens benefit from professionally run local government. A recent example is from Glendale, California. Under the leadership of City Manager Scott Ochoa, Glendale's council members and citizens head to the streets to see the city's high-performing departments in action during re-imagined council meetings called "Work Boot Tuesdays." Flipping the script on council meetings creates and reinforces civility, respect, and trust among all stakeholders, according to Glendale's Community Outreach Assistant Tamar Hadjimanoukian.
