Don’t miss the latest Life, Well Run success story, which describes how Salina, Kansas (pop. 48,000), addressed its revenue shortfalls by launching an ambitious continuous improvement initiative that integrated elements of the Lean-Six Sigma (LSS) operational excellence initiatives.

In 2011, under the direction of ICMA member and City Manager Jason Gage, the city of Salina hired Process Improvement Director Bryon Johnson to oversee Salina’s LSS Continuous Process Improvement program. The successful initiative resulted in hundreds of carefully documented processes and efficiency improvements, as well as thousands of dollars in cost savings for the city.

With more than 90 entries now online, the “Success Stories” section of the Life, Well Run campaign website highlights the programs, projects, and activities directed by professional city, town, and county managers that improved service delivery and enhanced the quality of life for residents.
