The Center for State and Local Government Excellence (SLGE) is hosting a webinar on October 24 to discuss the local health district (LHD) workforce, based on findings from a joint SLGE-University of Illinois at Chicago research project funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Researchers will present findings about the LHD workforce, including current personnel and budgetary challenges and examine innovations and approaches for strengthening the public health workforce.

Local government policymakers, political leaders, and the public health policy community are invited to discuss what can be done to attract and retain the talent needed to carry out their public health mission.
