The Town of Oro Valley is proud to announce the launch of its new website. Still located at www.orovalleyaz.gov, the new site was designed with the goal of improving the end-user experience and being more aesthetically representative of Oro Valley.

“The launch of the new website completes an identified strategic goal,” stated Town Manager Greg Caton. “First and foremost was our goal to improve the use of technology to better communicate with residents, businesses and guests in our community.  Secondly, with the updated Town brand and website, our communication efforts are aligned with recent marketing and branding efforts, and we are better able to convey critical information about Town programs and services.”

The site, which was designed and developed entirely in-house by Town staff, utilizes Drupal, an open-source content management system. “We took a look at what other jurisdictions and organizations were doing,” continued Caton, “and decided that we didn’t want a ready-made product created by an outside vendor. We wanted the flexibility and control that comes with building your own site from the ground up.”

Increased flexibility means staff will be able to continually customize the site—well into the future—based on the Town’s changing needs.
