Organizations around the world depend on the experts that make up ICMA’s Center for Public Safety Management (CPSM) to fulfill their safety training needs.  Saudi Aramco Refining and Petrochemical Company in Saudi Arabia can now be added to this list.

This November, ICMA CPSM associate Jack Brown is presenting Industrial Fire Brigade training to refinery operators as an adjunct instructor for the University of Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute.  Along with retired Baltimore City Fire Battalion chief John Petrovic, Brown is teaching the Incipient, Advanced Exterior and Interior Structural Fire Brigade courses in conformance with NFPA Standard #1081.  At the end of three weeks, the 25 students, all of whom have primary plant operational duties, will be trained to respond to and control small fires until the arrival of the fire department.  They will also be trained on providing back-up assistance if directed by the incident commander.

ICMA CPSM director Tom Wieczorek is very confident that the Saudi Aramco Refining and Petrochemical Company are in good hands.  “As a former county Assistant Fire Chief,  Jack is a pro’s pro, there’s a reason ICMA and organizations around the world depend on him and ICMA CPSM’s team of saftey experts.”

If your organization needs public safety training, you can benefit from CPSM’s team of highly trained experts by contacting Thomas Wieczorek at twieczorek@icma.org for more information.
