Competition participants

On August 31, 2014, an event aimed at promoting the idea of energy efficiency and integrated waste management was hosted on Batumi Boulevard.

Activities included a physical competition on waste separation and a trivia contest on waste reduction and recycling themes, and a photo screening. The winners of both competitions were awarded WMTR program hats and T-shirts. There was also a photo screening of the winning crafts created by students during the school competition held in May.

The event was initiated by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) program Enhancing Capacity for Low Emission Development Strategies /EC-LEDS/Clean Energy Program, implemented by Winrock International/Georgia.

The Waste Management Technologies in Regions (WMTR) program is supported by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) through its CityLinks program together with its local partner, CENN.
