ICMA is part of a consortium leading a $10 million, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development effort to provide resources and technical assistance to economically challenged communities across the country.

Local and state governments continue their hiring trend although their workforces are still smaller since the 2008 economic downturn.

In April, 30 ICMA members traveled to Gettysburg to immerse themselves in the leadership lessons of the battle.
