Ensuring the safety and security of communities is one of the primary responsibilities of local government. ICMA Results Networks has a long history of providing support for police, fire, and emergency medical services. Through our Community Policing Program, public safety peer assistance, and homeland security projects, ICMA Results Networks supports local government efforts to strengthen fire and crime prevention; emergency preparedness, response, and recovery; and law enforcement.  In 2006, ICMA joined with PERI in launching the National Emergency Management Network so personnel and other resources from multiple jurisdictions could be identified, trained, and certified to be deployed as a team when disaster strikes.
