The City of Riverside, Missouri is seeking their next Human Resources Director. The City of Riverside, Missouri, is a dynamic and forward-thinking community just north of downtown Kansas City that lives their tagline of “upstream from ordinary.” Today, Riverside is home to 4,700 residents, with a daytime population of 15,000 due to its growing industrial park, regional employment base, riverboat casino, Park Hill School District and the newly opened LiveNation Morton Amphitheater.
Reporting to the City Administrator, the Director leads HR operations for 85 full-time and 20 part-time employees across 12 areas including City Clerk, Communications/Events, Community Development, Dispatch, Finance, Fire, Human Resources, Information Technology, Municipal Court, Parks & Recreation, Police and Public Works.
The Human Resources Director will provide leadership, direction, and business decision support regarding the personnel and risk management operations of the City of Riverside. The Director will supervise a team of two, including a Human Resources Generalist and a Communications & Events Coordinator. Primary responsibilities include labor and employee relations, benefits management and payroll changes, compensation, recruitment and staffing, compliance and risk management, policy development, budget management, and employee supervision.
Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of local government HR experience. Professional certifications through PSHRA, SHRM, or HRCI are highly preferred. Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills are essential.
The hiring salary range for this position is $137,004 – 157,554 commensurate with qualifications and experience. A generous benefits program, including health, dental, life insurance, paid vacation and sick leave are provided and a fringe benefit package. The City participates in the Missouri Local Government Employees Retirement System (MOLAGERS) and offers a voluntary 457b plan.
