The Town of Prescott Valley operates under a Council-Manager form of government with approximately 300 full-time equivalent employees. Elected officials set policy and priorities while the Town Manager and executive leadership implement strategy and oversee municipal operations. In addition to the Finance Department, the other Town departments include Information Technology, Neighborhood Services, Public Works, Development Services, Police, Library, Parks & Rec, Human Resources, Utilities, Magistrate Court, and Town Clerk.
The Finance Department plays a critical role in supporting the entire organization and is considered a major partner in assisting every department to accomplish their specific mission. The Department includes the three primary Divisions: Budget and Grants, Accounts Payable and Receivables, and Procurement. These Divisions complete payroll, prepare financial statements, complete grant compliance reports, provide mail and copying services, and prepare various financial analyses. The Department also serves as lead investment portfolio manager, with the Director serving in a lead role advising the Town Manager. The Department also manages the annual financial audit and the annual budget development process, working closely with Departments and Town Manager’s Office. achieving the Town’s current high credit ratings: AA+ Fitch Ratings Investor Service and AA Standard & Poor’s Rating Group. The Department Budget for Fiscal Year 2026/27 is $2.66M supporting 13 Full time equivalent employees. The adopted Town Budget for Fiscal year 26/27 is $222,559,730. The FY26/27 budget anticipates continued population and commercial growth, requiring proactive utility planning to align service capacity with development while maintaining affordability for residents. The position requirements are a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Finance or a closely related field with eight (8) years of management experience in finance and/or budget and four (4) years of supervisory experience in an assistant director or director role. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in the State of Arizona or the ability to obtain a license in Arizona within a determined amount of time.
