Job Summary: The Finance Director oversees the City’s financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, payroll, reporting, investments, debt, and compliance with federal and Minnesota statutes. The position manages utility billing operations, ensuring accuracy and strong internal controls. Serving as statutory Treasurer, the role supports financial reporting and works closely with the City Administrator and Clerk on levy, assessments, and related functions. The position also administers payroll and benefits and coordinates technology services to support City operations.

Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field, five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the private or public finance sector, and government accounting system experience. A master’s degree, experience with BS&A, CPA or CPFO certification, and seven (7) or more years of experience in MN municipal finance are preferred.
