Lead from the center. Influence what matters. Prepare for what's next.
The City of Kentwood is seeking a strategic, driven, and emotionally intelligent Deputy City Administrator to help lead a high-performing organization and shape the future of a thriving West Michigan community.
This is not a traditional deputy role. Operating within a strong mayor structure, you will serve as a trusted advisor and operational leader, aligning departments, guiding key initiatives, and ensuring the Mayor and City Commission have the insight and information needed to make impactful decisions.
You'll be at the center of it all, supporting 13 departments, leading cross-functional projects, and tackling priorities ranging from public safety and financial sustainability to major capital investments, including the launch of a new community center.
This role is ideal for a rising leader ready to take the next step toward a City Manager or Administrator position. You'll gain direct exposure to executive leadership, complex policy issues, and real-time decision-making while building the experience needed to advance your career.
Kentwood offers a collaborative culture, a strong leadership team, and an exceptional quality of life, with access to the economic and cultural amenities of the Grand Rapids region.
If you're ready to lead, influence, and grow, this is your opportunity.
