The County of Marin (pop. 260,000) is located in the hills northwest of San Francisco. The Planning Division, with a $5 million budget and 21 staff, is responsible for the County’s current, long-range, and environmental planning functions.

The County seeks a passionate, forward-thinking planning professional with a collaborative, team-oriented leadership style and an innovative, creative approach to advancing contemporary land-use policy. They will possess deep knowledge of California planning law and bring a process-improvement mindset. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with successful experience leading meaningful change, improving service, and streamlining processes.

Qualified candidates will bring 5 years of professional land-use planning experience, including 2 years of supervisory experience, and a Bachelor’s degree in planning, urban studies, or a related field.
