The next Finance Director should possess broad professional and technical knowledge of finance and governmental accounting.
A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or accounting is required and a Master’s degree is preferred.
At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in local government financial administration or accounting with at least two years in management is highly desired.
While not required, credentials as a Certified Government Finance Officer or Certified Public Accountant are a plus.
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities will be considered.
