INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY MANAGER

The Village of Arlington Heights is seeking an experienced leader to serve as its next Information Technology (IT) Manager. This key leadership role is responsible for managing the Village’s IT Division and leading a team of six professionals who deliver reliable, secure, and innovative technology solutions across all Village departments.
Reporting to the Deputy Village Manager, the IT Manager is a hands-on leader, ensuring that IT staff are trained, supported, and equipped to meet the organization’s diverse technology needs. Your team ensures that technology runs reliably around the clock, supporting Village staff who serve the community every day. The IT Manager plays a critical role in guiding the team’s daily work, mentoring staff, delegating assignments, evaluating performance, and fostering a positive and collaborative culture.
The IT Manager oversees the full scope of the Village’s technology operations, including software, hardware, network infrastructure, and cybersecurity initiatives. This role works closely with department heads to develop strategies that align technology solutions with operational goals and ensures that the IT Division is responsive, innovative, and provides excellent customer service to internal users.
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, along with 7–10 years of IT experience that includes staff supervision and leadership. Candidates with municipal IT experience and professional certifications are especially encouraged to apply.
The anticipated starting salary for this position is between $127,027 – $140,000, depending on qualifications and experience. The full salary range for this position is $127,027 – $184,189. This position offers and excellent benefits package, including participation in the IMRF pension plan. Residency is not required.
