Directs the overall financial management, planning, and forecasting for the Finance Department in compliance with City policies and procedures and in accordance with applicable regulatory laws, standards and requirements. Management authority extends to general accounting, treasury services, budgeting, purchasing, risk management, general billing, and utility customer service. Advises the City Manager and City Council based on sound financial reporting and analysis. Position is primarily focused on directing, coaching, developing, and evaluating other people. Position requires extensive depth of expertise and knowledge in specialized functions or business areas that can be used to develop and implement policies and procedures as well as determining efficient and innovative ways to accomplish the organization's business strategies.
