The City of West Hollywood is seeking an experienced Facilities & Field Services Manager with a strong background supervising staff and strategically managing a team through the unique challenges faced in the public sector. The Facilities & Field Services Manager has the responsibility for managing the largest operating budget in the City, the second largest Division personnel, preparing reports and presentations, and overseeing an extensive portfolio of contracts and ongoing projects. Therefore, the Facilities & Field Services Manager must be an excellent verbal and written communicator, have experience facilitating meetings, and be able to manage projects from ideation to completion. The position is also responsible for coordinating with Departments and Divisions throughout the City, including the Urban Design & Architecture Studio, Housing and Rent Stabilization, Finance, Recreation Services, Human Resources, and more.

The position of Facilities & Field Services Manager requires a hands-on leader who can effectively manage capital projects, coordinate across all City departments, and maintain the 24/7 operational demands that support West Hollywood’s vibrant community activities, events, and daily municipal services.

The ideal candidate will:
• Demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, including the ability to effectively coach, mentor, and discipline. Have experience dealing with employee relations and performance improvement plans.
• Build trust and establish strong working relationships with a seasoned team that has significant tenure and deep institutional knowledge.
• Implement succession planning strategies to ensure continuity of services.
• Actively participate in day-to-day operations while providing strategic leadership.
• Work seamlessly across all City departments and divisions to support municipal operations.
• Understand the need to put in the necessary time to resolve issues, complete projects, and attend meetings outside of normal business hours.
• Have a thorough understanding of municipal budget processes and experience developing and monitoring Division or project budgets.
• Have experience overseeing Capital Improvement Projects.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Possess extensive experience in building maintenance, street maintenance, and/or urban forestry and landscape maintenance.
• Possess experience serving as a direct liaison to a municipal commission or board.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field; and
• Four to five years of progressively responsible related experience; or,
• Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

This position is eligible to work remotely for up to 50% of its time, subject to approval and based on the ongoing operational needs of the City.

Salary Range: $178,210.68 - $234,548.76 Annually
