Summary
Lancaster County, located in Lancaster, SC, is in search of an experienced Human Resources leader to oversee human resources operations for a human resources group responsible for supporting over 1000 employees. This is a highly visible role that will have oversight of recruitment, employee engagement, employee retention, onboarding and orientation, employee evaluations, and benefits.
The ideal candidate will have previous HR leadership experience as well as experience coaching and developing an action-oriented staff during a period of high growth. Responsibilities
• Manage a team of Human Resources professionals that support all departments across the organization.
• Collaborate with the organization's executive leadership on a regular basis.
• Own core human resource functions, including compensation, benefits, recruitment, retention, employee relations, employee engagement, and employee onboarding.
• Advise department leadership in resolving employee relations and employee performance issues.
• Coordinate with departments, including risk management, on workers' compensation claims and employee training.
• Streamline HR processes and systems to improve operational efficiency and support data-driven decision-making.
• Guide leadership decisions on insurance plans, costs, coverages, changes, and administer the COBRA program.
• Manage vendor relationships related to benefits administration, recruitment platforms, and employee programs.
• Oversee talent acquisition strategies to attract diverse, high-caliber candidates and manage the full recruitment lifecycle.
Requirements
• A bachelor’s degree is required. Additional certifications such as SHRM-CP, PHR, or SPHR are preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in human resources administration and experience overseeing a high-performing HR department.
• Track record of leading, mentoring, and developing HR professionals within an action-oriented environment.
• Hands-on experience managing employee benefit programs such as health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
• Must be able to analyze complex HR issues and implementing effective solutions, while also balancing workload efficiently and meeting deadlines.
