Town of Nahant seeks a qualified candidate for the position of Town Administrator (TA). Appointed by the Board of Selectmen, the Town Administrator is responsible for appointing and removing all department heads, officers and subordinates and employees subject to the provisions of the Town Administrator Act of 1992 (TAA), except person serving under appointments made by the Commonwealth or persons subject to the provisions of chapter thirty-one of the Massachusetts General Laws (Civil Service). The TA is responsible for fiscal management, capital planning, collective bargaining, labor relations, public construction and procurement oversight. Education and experience requirements; at a minimum a Bachelor's degree and at least five years of professional experience in public administration and/or business in performing the duties set forth in the TAA.
