The City of Grand Rapids Retirement Systems are looking for their next Executive Director. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic, family friendly community, and work in a stable, forward-thinking organization. The previous Executive Director retired after 25 years in the position.
The City of Grand Rapids has two retirement systems for its employees and retirees. The Police and Fire Retirement System covers all non-sworn public safety employees, and the General Retirement System covers all other employees. The General Retirement System has $477,364,440 in assets, and the Police and Fire Retirement System has $541,447,124 in assets. The Executive Director reports directly to the two boards and manages the day-to-day operations of the systems.
A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, business administration, finance, or related field is required, along with five years of training and experience in municipal retirement system administration, or a combination of education, training and experience which is deemed to provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is required.
