DAY TO DAY AS A DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS
As the Director of Public Works at Ferguson Township, you will operate under the direction of the Township Manager, ensuring the effective and efficient functioning of the Public Works Department. This pivotal role encompasses both supervisory and administrative responsibilities in delivering essential municipal public works services. Your focus will be on administering and directing departmental operations, which includes developing a comprehensive budget and a strategic capital improvement plan. Additionally, you will take on the vital task of coaching, developing, and evaluating team members, empowering them to excel in their roles. Are you a good fit for this Director of Public Works job?
We're seeking a highly qualified candidate with a bachelor's degree in a related field (engineering preferred) and at least six years of experience in municipal public works. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience managing cross-functional teams, along with a proven track record in departmental budget management and interdepartmental collaboration. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in project management and civil engineering.
