The Town of Windham, New Hampshire (approx. population 16,000) seeks an experienced, proven executive level, team leader to serve as its’ next Town Administrator. Windham has been one of the fastest growing communities in New Hampshire and is located along the southern NH border just 35 miles north of Boston and 20 miles south of Manchester. Given its location along I-93 and State Route 111, this affluent bedroom community has retained its small-time appeal through good governance, thoughtful planning and preservation of natural assets.
Working at the direction of the Board of Selectmen, the Town Administrator administers a budget of approx. $20.4 million and the services provided by 94 FT/17 PT employees. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of modern personnel, finance, and grant management practices. Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to engage stakeholders in a meaningful way in a close-knit, small-town community. A master’s degree in public administration or related field, and a minimum of seven years of municipal management experience is preferred, OR an equivalent combination of experience and education which demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
