The City of Kalamazoo is a vibrant, exciting and diverse community. The city is located in southwest Michigan, approximately half-way between Detroit and Chicago. The City of Kalamazoo is a full-service community providing the city with services including public safety (police and fire protection), streets, water, sewer, inspections, community planning, economic development and parks and recreation.

The City of Kalamazoo is seeking an experienced, passionate and dedicated individual to serve as Deputy City Manager (DCM). As part of the City Manager’s senior leadership team—alongside the Chief Operating Officer and Assistant City Manager—the DCM will play a key role in implementing City Commission priorities and providing strategic direction and oversight for multiple City departments and operations. The ideal candidate will be community-focused and exhibit a strong, collaborative leadership style.

The salary range is $131,580 to $183,600 per year plus an excellent benefit package including a defined benefit retirement plan.
