Founded in 1859, the City of Junction City, Kansas is a community rich in military history and pride. The City Manager is responsible to the City Commission for maintaining and operating the City in a professional manner and administration of all City affairs. This position manages and directs the day-to-day operations of the City based on the ordinances and policies established by the City Commission. The City Manager oversees operation of the City’s departments, including Administration, Building & Codes, Legal, Fire, Human Resources, Information Technology, Municipal Court, Planning & Zoning, Police, Public Works, and Water & Wastewater. This position is responsible for a total budget of $141.9M.

This position also works closely with community members, local school members, Fort Riley officials, and is highly visible at community events.
