Economic Development Analyst

Monthly Salary: $6,328.22 - $8,124.54
The City of Stockton is seeking an Economic Development Analyst to assist with the implementation of programs and projects focused on business retention, attraction, and expansion. There is currently one (1) vacancy in the Economic Development Department. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and be a flexible, detail oriented person that can work effectively with members of the public. Experience in marketing, research, and small business development is highly desired. Coordination with other City departments to facilitate zoning, permitting, licensing and other related issues is required. This incumbent will work a City of Stockton 9/80 schedule: 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Fridays; with every other Friday off.
Under general supervision, performs responsible administrative, statistical, program and other analyses in support of City economic development programs and projects; performs related work as assigned.
This skilled class is fully competent to perform responsible analytical work in supporting various programs to encourage and stimulate economic development within the City. Requires a flexible, detailed oriented person who can work effectively with members of the public. This class is distinguished from Senior Economic Development Analyst in that the latter has lead responsibility for economic development programs and services.
Education/Experience:
Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business or public administration, urban planning, economics or a closely related field and one year of professional level experience in economic development activities and/or development of affordable housings or management of housing programs.
Other Requirements:
• Must possess a valid California Class "C" driver's license.
• Must be willing to attend meetings outside of normal working hours.
