Deputy Town Manager

Town of Camp Verde, AZ

Assists the Town Manager in the overall operation of the Town:
•Oversees the operations of assigned departments.
•Plans, coordinates, and ensures quality control of information presented to Town Council at formal and informal Council meetings.
•Responds to Town Manager and Town Council requests.
•Analyzes problems, identifies alternative solutions, projects consequences of proposed actions, and implements recommendations in support of goals.
•Analyzes departmental organization and operating practices and effectiveness and directs improvements where warranted.
•Works closely with the Town Manager, Town Council, a variety of public, private and community organizations and citizens groups in developing and implementing programs to achieve Town priorities.
•Provides support in the preparation of the Town’s annual budget and five-year capital improvements program.
•Meets and confers with community groups and individuals to explain various Town programs, functions, policies, and procedures.
•Conducts special management and cross-departmental projects as assigned.
•Makes interpretations of Town ordinances, codes and applicable laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
•Works regionally, statewide and at the national level to strengthen intergovernmental relationships and pursue legislative priorities.
•Serves as Acting Town Manager in Town Manager’s absence.
