The City of Cripple Creek is situated about an hour West of Colorado Springs in a historic mining community just behind Pikes Peak and offering beautiful views of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range. A community of around 1,200, Cripple Creek is one of three gaming communities in Colorado, enabling a heavy focus on Historic Preservation. Under the direction of the Director, this position is a generalist and working leader that expertly performs the duties associated with land use planning and zoning, building inspecting and permitting and economic development. The comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, gap, life insurance, long-term disability, 8% retirement contribution into Colorado Retirement Association (CRA), vacation and sick leave accompanied by 12 paid holidays. The applicant must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and 3 or more years of experience in municipal planning and economic development or demonstrated equivalent experience and expertise.
