City Manager

City of Vista, CA

Under policy direction, the City Manager acts as chief executive officer of the City and advisor to the City Council; represents the City and City Council in its relation to the community and media and other agencies and performs a wide variety of complex managerial duties and related work as required. The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree with a major in political science, public administration, business administration or a closely related field and administrative level experience (at least 7 years) serving as the chief executive officer of a municipality. At least five (5) years' experience as a Department Director in the City of Vista, wherein the incumbent has acquired the knowledge, skills and abilities listed below is preferred.
