The Director of HR administers a broad range of human resource management functions City-wide, including, employment relations, staffing and recruitment, compensation, employee benefits, policy and procedure development, training and development, performance management, and personnel records. This position is responsible for administrative oversight, visioning, leadership, planning, coordination, and control of the Human Resources Department.
Licenses and Certifications Preferred:
Notary Public Certification from the State of Georgia within 60 days of hire.
Possession of professional certification and remain in good standings with a recognized Human Resource organization (i.e. SHRM, PIHRA, PHR, IPMA-HR, etc.).
Minimum Education/ Experience/ Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in human resources, public administration, business administration, sociology, or a related field.
Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources.
Three (3) years of municipal government experience as a director of human resources.
The Human Resources Department is responsible for managing the full range of workforce services including the following:
Job classification and compensation
Local, state and federal personnel compliance
Organizational development and learning
Policy administration and interpretation
Records, database and transaction management
Talent acquisition and management
