ICMA and the U.S Army’s Installation Management Command (IMCOM) are partnering to provide professional fellowships in local government management for incoming garrison commanders about to embark on their two-year rotation. Managing an army garrison is much like running a small to mid-size city with responsibilities in leadership and management similar to those of a city manager.

As part of the partnership and for a fee of $1,500, ICMA will identify host communities for the week long professional fellowship for garrison commanders. Additionally, ICMA will work with each host community to develop an appropriate curriculum to ensure that each army commander gets the maximum benefit from the fellowship. The U.S. Army will be responsible for covering each commander’s travel, housing, meals and any other living expenses necessary for the week-long fellowship.

To pay the administrative fee for the professional fellowship, follow the link below and provide all necessary information. After confirmed payment, ICMA will work with the garrison commander and IMCOM to identify a host community.
