Congress is restoring earmarks…

The House Committee on Appropriations recently announced it will accept congressionally directed spending or “Community Project Funding” requests from House Members, with the Senate expected to follow suit.

House Members can submit a total of 10 project requests across all appropriations bills. Total spending on earmarks in the House will be limited to one percent of domestic discretionary spending. The window to compete for House earmarks will be short: most subcommittees will require members to submit requests between March 29 and mid-April. The Senate is likely to set deadlines soon thereafter.
