In an effort to increase the number of new residential homes, the Village of Manhattan created their own Economic Stimulus Package. The Village provides grant money to residents and will give $5,000 for a detached single family home and $3,500 for an attached single family home. This money can be used for down payment assistance, closing costs, mortgage points, and construction options, and is provided by a partnership between the Village of Manhattan, Manhattan Park District, Manhattan Fire Protection District, Manhattan Public Library District, and the Lincoln-Way School District.
