Panelists for this session shared strategies to foster the public's confidence in local government by improving the capacity of elected and appointed officials to act ethically and create ethical organizations. The attached handout highlights legal mechanisms to promote ethical behavior. Provides strategies to develop local codes of ethics; discusses key ethics law principles; includes tips on questions to ask in sticky situations; and promotes ethical contracting practices.
