The State of New Jersey, in an effort to encourage its municipalities to explore shared services, has adopted the SHARE Grant Program. The inititiative is designed to provide financial incentives through grants to local governments who adopt efficient shared services programs that follow state guidelines. This Oct. 2006 SHARE handbook not only outlines the parameters of those guidelines, but also provides advice on basic implementation and offers case studies of successful grant programs throughout New Jersey.
