Upper Arlington, OH has created a program to better assist their large aging population which relies heavily on emergency services. Often times 9-1-1 is used as a default when the situation at hand is not necessarily one EMS was designed to handle. The program, “STAY UA” (Services to Age in Your Upper Arlington), trains professionals to assess, counsel, and provide realistic support to the community’s elderly and disabled for calls that more often relate to social services than emergencies.
