In the United States 16 percent of the population is uninsured, but in Texas the rate is nearly 25 percent. The high rate of uninsured led San Antonio Metropolitan Health District to partner with the Goodwill and provide health care services at Goodwill stores. This partnership gives San Antonians access to screenings and tests like mammograms, glucose testing, cholesterol screenings, and high blood pressure screening, as well as immunizations and health care education programs.
