To celebrate the city’s 150th anniversary Eagan, MN wanted to do something big but also community oriented. The City decided the best way to commemorate the event was to give back to the community through the donation of 150,000 pounds of food to local shelters. The hard work of city employees, resident volunteers, and an extensive advertising plan paid off. Not only was the city able to reach their goal, they met the mark so quickly it was extended to 300,000 pounds of food to honor the next 150 years.
