A public-private partnership between Jackson County, Oregon, and several city governments in the county and a private library management company saved the county’s public libraries from indefinite closure after they had been shuttered for a six-month period because of a countywide budget crisis. It’s also saving Jackson County taxpayers approximately $27 million over a five-year period.
