The Saline County Planning & Zoning Comission voted to approve two new ordinances regarding public and private wind energy conversion systems and their zoning. Saline County finds that wind energy is an abundant, renewable and nonpolluting energy resource and that its conversion to electricity will reduce individual dependence on nonrenewable energy resources and decrease the air and water pollution that results from the use of conventional energy sources. Wind energy systems also reduce peak power demands and help diversify the County’s energy supply.
