The City established Process Improvement Teams or “PIT Crews” for short to address internal procedures to create more efficiency, eliminate waste, and avoid duplication; and, to provide a better product and customer service to our residents.  The PIT Crews engaged employees throughout the organization consisting of front line staff, mid-level managers, and senior management to provide recommendations for improvement and implementation.  PIT Crews to date that have been established include: Customer Service, Development Review, Employee Recognition, Insurance Claims filed against City, Cleaning/Maintenance of City Hall, Records Retention including Electronic Records Management, and a variety of Police Department internal process improvements.  The City conducted LEAN Process Improvement Training for all mid-level managers and senior management staff; and, conducted a community-wide survey through the National Citizen Survey TM to determine where we could improve our service to the community.
