This document highlights proceedings and outcomes of a Vacant Properties Roundtable for local government staff from the Las Vegas Valley, convened in December 2003 by ICMA with support from the Fannie Mae Foundation and the National Vacant Properties Campaign. Outcomes of the roundtable include: laying the groundwork for a regional vacant properties working group; exploration of multidisciplinary approaches and holistic vacant property programs; tailored action plans that address the vacant properties issues within each participating community; and increased visibility of the region’s vacant property problems and its relationship to affordable housing, infill development, and other smart growth planning solutions.
