This article presents the City of Hickory’s innovative economic development effort called Operation No Vacancy. Reviews the program’s goal: to attract reinvestment in vacant commercial and industrial spaces. Discusses the rationale for creating this program, as well as the program’s performance metrics and the first year program results.
