Kenneth Pulskamp has been City Manager of Santa Clarita, California since 2002. In that time he has again and again demonstrated his commitment to public service and the creation of professional development opportunities. Moreover, since he began working for the city in 1987, he has served as the Acting Department Head of every City department, and is also the current president of the League of California Cities City Managers Department. Mr. Pulskamp takes his responsibilities as City Manager very seriously and has strengthened the organization through open dialogue and the implementation of effective programs within the workplace and the community. This has fostered an environment where personnel are expected to think creatively and overcome their expectations in order to realize their personal best. Mr. Pulskap has made it his personal responsibility to deal with the shortage of professional employees by implementing a formal Mentoring Program, inaugurating the Leadership Academy, and the creation of the Supervisory Series, a program designed to help current supervisors develop a foundation and strengthen the skills needed to effectively manage others.
