In an effort to combat the rising fuel costs of fleets the City of Asheboro, NC worked with Withers & Ravenel, a firm with experience in GIS solutions. Together they created software that allows City drivers and operators to use mobile devices to mark the location of bulky items and brush piles. Rather than completing a full route every time the fleets go out they can maximize their use of gas by only going to the places they are needed.
