The Land Bank Authority was formed in 2009 to handle homes that had been foreclosed on and stood uncared for. Together working with Habitat for Humanity, local governments, and community volunteers the homes have been renovated or demolished and put back on the tax roll. While there are similar County Land Bank Authorities in Michigan, Marquette County has been able to sustain their program with a limited budget.
