ICMA and the Urban Management Centre (ICMA’s representative in South Asia, based in Ahmedabad, India) prepared ten case studies on the use of geographic information systems (GIS), also known as geospatial information technologies, with funding from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Cases address GIS applications in: Cape Town, South Africa; the Kingdom of Bahrain; Dongcheng-Beijing, China; Jordan; Cobb County, Georgia; Karachi, Pakistan; Ormoc City, the Philippines; Southern Sudan; Sub-Saharan Africa; and Newcastle, England.
