After receiving money from the Neighborhood Stabilization Program grant, the City of Garland, TX created a program not just to reinvigorate failing neighborhoods but to make them sustainable as well. The GREAT Homes program has been a collaborative effort between many government departments, local residents, and business that have all helped volunteer their time and services to this community development project.
