With support from the USAID-funded Stability in Key Areas-West (SIKA-West) program in Afghanistan, the Pashtun Zarghun district government and district residents identified a need to protect their agricultural lands from flooding. The locally managed construction of a flood protection wall provided short-term employment and helped preserve the farmland. ICMA is a member of the SIKA-West team, headed by AECOM.
